The Prince George Public Library (PGPL) has unveiled its stats for the 2017 calendar year and the numbers show the facility is maintaining its reputation.
According to the facility’s Youth Services Report, local youth borrowed more than 16,500 items each month, whether they were books, magazines, or movies.
The report also shows 15% of the library’s active users are 18 years old or younger; the PGPL boasts a total of nearly 55,000 cardholders.
Families and their children have also contributed to the PGPL’s success last year as almost 15,000 young kids participated in programs between its two branches, more than 5,000 of them were introduced through school, daycare centres, and other community events.
Programs include:
- Pajama Storytime
- Introduction to Creating Comics
- Minecraft Fridays
- Summer Reading
- Chess Kids
- Teen Tech Squad
- Bike Rodeo
The PGPL will be hosting its Munsch Mania tomorrow afternoon, 1PM to 2:30PM as part of Family Literacy Week.
