The College of New Caledonia is looking for donations of gently used scrubs for its scrub drive. Tops and bottoms sized extra small, small, and medium are being requested the most.
“Donate those scrubs that may be too small, too big, or not quite right for you to a student who could use them,” said CNC nursing instructor Nancy Esopenko in a statement, who organized the drive.
“They must be washed, in good shape and recyclable for others to use.”
Scrubs can be dropped off until arch 29th. Available dropoff locations are at the CNC library and the Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation office at the University Hospital of Northern BC.
“Reduce, reuse, recycle, and support the next generation of health sciences students by donating those scrubs in your closet,” Esopenko said.
Donated scrubs, tops and bottoms, will be available for students and the public to buy on April 3rd at the CNC Gathering Place for five dollars from 9:00am to 2:00pm.
All proceeds go towards CNC’s Making a Difference Bursary. Since 2011, five CNC health sciences students annually benefit from the $250 bursary.
CNC has given $9,250 worth of bursaries to health sciences students to date and provided economical uniform choices to the students thanks to the donations.
