Library presentation looks at the life of PG's post-war teens

The life and times of PG teens in the 1950s is the subject of a presentation at the library Thursday.

Spokesperson Andrea Palmer says the event is hosted by UNBC professor Jonathan Swainger.

“It’s based on his research where he’s looked into post-war teen culture right here in Prince George, we expect it to be really exciting,” she says.

Palmer says many of the things we struggle with as a community aren’t any different now than they were back then.

“The big problems they had, the headline-making problems in the 1950’s were gang-related, violence-related,” she says.

Palmer says the presentation will also be presented in a fun and informative way.

“I have it on good authority that Dr. Swainger will be bringing some video examples, as well as pictures, and might even be playing some music,” she says.

The event will be held at the Bob Harkins branch at 7 p.m..
