It’s going to be “Hockey Night in Prince George” Saturday night at the Chamber of Commerce Excellence Awards.
The Gala is fully embracing the theme with a Don Cherry impersonator and a visit from former Canucks goalie Kirk McLean.
Captain Kirk will talk not only hockey, but what “Business Excellence” means to him.
“Obviously, success, but I truly believe that a lot of the successful business giants in the world have gone through struggles and have built themselves back up,” he explains. “Patience, perseverance , communication , are all huge elements, you also have to enjoy it.”
McLean also expects the question period will focus on a lot of hockey and leadership-related queries.
“I just fly by the seat of my pants and listen to what the people’s questions are and try to answer to the best of my ability,” he says.
In fact, he says any question is a great question.
“Even when I was in the coaching part of it,” McLean says. “You know, ask any question, even as a player, ask any question, there’s no such thing as a bad question . For the most part, people ask extremely intelligent questions.”
