City Council Preview: March 26th, 2018

In the spirit of March being kidney/nutrition awareness month, the Prince George chapter of the Kidney Foundation will be one of two delegations on the agenda for Monday’s regular council meeting. Their presentation topic surrounds the number of registered Organ Donors with BC Transplant and to request the support of Mayor Lyn Hall and the rest of council for organ donation. The other delegation goes to Rio Tinto who will provide a reservoir update.

Two bylaws will seek final reading and adoption. The first being the Comprehensive Fees and Charges Bylaw, which will reinstate a $70 fee for the installation or alteration to City Services including water, sewer, and storm sewer. The second will have council vote on the closure of a portion of 6th Avenue, which ties in with a projected hotel development.

There are 20 total items in the formal public hearing and four for the informal public hearing. One of the four informal hearing items considers a four-plex being constructed on 5th Avenue.
