Northern BC couple ‘gamble’ to huge lottery win

A Dawson Creek couple lived up to their surname, taking a risk on the latest Lotto 6/49 jackpot.

Kim and Susan Gamble have been announced as the big winners of the game’s guaranteed $1 million prize by the BC Lottery Corporation (BCLC).

“We heard there was a winning ticket sold in Dawson Creek,” said Kim in a news release.

“So I decided to check my ticket on the Lotto App. As soon as I scanned it, I instantly froze up and was speechless.”

The winning numbers in the nationwide lottery were purchased at a 7-Eleven in Dawson Creek.

The Gambles plan on using the winnings to renovate their home, but a big trip to Hawaii is also in the works.

“I didn’t know what Kim was looking at,” replied Susan.

“So I popped my head over to see the app and instantly froze up too. It was a speechless moment frozen in time. It’s hard to explain the shock, but we just couldn’t believe our eyes.”

According to BCLC, seven other winners are listed from BC for the SuperDraw promotion to Lotto 6/49.
