A flag raising at City Hall kicked off the start of Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Awareness Month in Prince George.
MS is a disease which attacks the central nervous system causing pain and can even result in disability.
“One in 340 people are being diagnosed with MS,” says Sandra Stibrandy, Chair of the MS Walk Committee.
“It’s not something that is going away, but because of the funds we are raising we are able to contribute to research, programs and services.”

For May, the MS walk committee wants to raise $20,000 to show support for those suffering from the disease and to help them lead a normal life added Stribrandy.
In Prince George there are more than 800 people who suffer from the disease.
The MS Walk takes place in PG on Sunday, May 27th.
