Grade 10 and 11 students from over 40 high schools are taking part in the annual Rotary Adventures in Health Care event in Prince George .
Between may 7th to 10th, students are introduced to opportunities available in health care as a way of spreading awareness about potential careers in the sector.
“I know last year they were dissecting pigs brains and DNA testing. At the college there is the dentistry program that they will go through with hands on. It’s a real eye opener for the youngsters,” says Rotarian Ron Davis
This provides an opportunity to show youth from all over the province what Northern BC has to offer in terms of health care added Davis.
“The purpose of the program is to try and enlighten them on some of the opportunities in the areas of the north for job opportunities and lifestyles. That is why we’ve encouraged students from all over the province to attend.”
In the three days students are in PG, they will travel to University Hospital of Northern BC, UNBC and CNC.
