Cheaper summer flights not coming to PG

Prince George residents looking for a less expensive option in the sky this summer will be disappointed as Flair Airlines has gone back on its decision to offer discount flights at the Prince George Airport.

“After a lot of back and forth and looking at the future booking and the future booking curves, they just weren’t as strong as we needed them to be so we had to make the unfortunate decision to withdraw service,” explains Head of Marketing and Communications Julie Rempel, before stating this is something the airline would like to revisit in the future.

“We have done a lot of research in the to Prince George market, we will continue to do that plus in addition to all that research is we have been able to develop a really strong relationship with the Prince George Airport.”

The company originally announced it would touchdown at YXS June 15th and offer flights starting at $79 one way to and from Vancouver and Edmonton.

Rempel says anyone who has bought a ticket will receive a full and immediate refund.
