New President appointed by the Community Arts Council

The Board of Directors of The Community Arts Council of Prince George has appointed Linda Rempel as the new president.

Rempel will take over from Zelda Craig, who has served the past four years. She will continue to serve the board in the role of past-president.

Rempel is a nationally-recognized business person and entrepreneur and joins the organization while they are in their early stages of the new downtown facility project, and during the 50th anniversary year.

“I am excited to join the vibrant and hard-working team at the Arts Council at such a pivotal time in its history,” said Linda. “Building on 50 years of supporting amazing local art and artists, I believe the next 50 years will be equally impressive, and it will start with our move into our new facility. The new downtown location for Studio 2880 will serve Prince George citizens with rich artistic experiences that foster all levels of talent – and will contribute to community building for years to come.”

The Arts Council is currently undergoing a capital investment analysis review of the potential new arts-based community centre located at 3rd and Quebec. It aims to be fully relocated downtown from its current location on 15th Avenue by 2021.

Rempel will move into office as president June 12th.
