WATCH: ICBC, PG RCMP teaming up for Canada Day checkpoints

WATCH:

ICBC is reminding commuters to drive carefully this Canada Day long weekend.

RCMP CounterAttack checkpoints will be set up around Prince George to tackle impaired driving.

“On average, every year, seven people are injured in 44 crashes in the North Central BC region on Canada day, so it’s an important weekend as there are lots of people out on the road.”

Residents planning on drinking for Canada’s 151st birthday are being asked to make sure everyone have a safe ride home.

The City of Prince George is looking for community feedback as it is updating its wildfire plan.  The City is inviting the community to participate throughout the summer to identify priorities and areas of concern and provide feedback on upcoming fuel mitigation work at Shane Lake. 

PG Fire crews douse garage blaze to cap off long weekend

Once on scene, firefighters found the structure fully engulfed in flames. The cause of the blaze is undetermined.
