Summerfest 2018 hopes to generate more revenue than previous year

Downtown Prince George is getting ready for Summerfest 2018.

Thousands of people are expected to attend the festival and take part in the taste pavilion, interactive kidz zone, and live entertainment.

Executive Director of Downtown PG, Colleen Van Mook, says they hope to generate more revenue this year.

“Last year, we had a bit of a blustery day. We were still pleased with the turnout but we noticed that people didn’t stay quite as long. Our revenues were a little bit down in the taste pavilion and so, this year we are hoping mother nature will be on our side.”

She added with this years event being held at Canada Games Plaza they will be able to cover more ground.

“We are happy to come back to Canada Games Plaza. We think there’s lots of space to be able to execute our kidz zone and the taste pavilion will be in the parking lot, behind the Four Seasons Leisure pool, And exhibitor ally is going to run all along 7th Avenue.”

This years Summerfest starts the 15th at 11am.
