Feral cat population being tracked in PG

Just how many feral cats are in Prince George is being researched by the local SPCA.

The animal advocacy group has noticed a lot of stray cats coming from untamed cat colonies in the city.

Branch Manager Angela McLaren says they are currently interviewing people who have stray cat colonies.

“Just getting an idea of how big the colonies are,” says McLaren, “whether any of the animals are spayed and neutered, what their health conditions are.”

McLaren says the hope is to use this research to apply for grants and other funding.

She says anyone who is or knows of someone who runs a feral cat colony to get in touch with them.
