Community groups receive Multiculturalism Grant

As part of the 76 community groups to receive funds from the province’s Multiculturalism Grant Program, two Prince George community groups will each receive $4,000.

As a result, both the Immigrant and Multicultural Services Society of Prince George and the Prince George Regional Art Gallery Association will receive the grant for projects they plan on putting on this year.

The Immigrant and Multicultural Services Society plans on using those funds to help with their My Voice, Your Voice in our Community – Intercultural Understanding project, which is seeking to give voice to people from various ethnic cultures, races, religions, and ages. The goal of the project is to bridge cultural differences and gaps in community relations.

Also receiving the grant is the Regional Art Gallery Association. Two Rivers Gallery will be presenting an exhibition called Indigenous Ways of Learning, an art exhibit of reconciliation.

With the province boasting the largest proportion of ethnocultural diversity in Canada, the B.C. government provides $300,00 annually through the Multiculturalism Grant Program.
