Public Library announces list of Spring Break programs

The Prince George Public Library will be offering a range of free programs for elementary and high school students for much of the Spring Break.

The programs will be taking place at the Bob Harkins Branch in downtown Prince George between March 18 and 22.

Some of the notable events include A Day with Kym Gouchie and Steampunk Harry Potter.

A Day with Kym Gouchie will take place on Wednesday, March 20. In the morning, people of all ages are invited to join Gouchie for shaker-making and rock-painting. Participants are encouraged to bring their own special rocks for the day’s activities. In the afternoon, Gouchie will give a live performance, which will last approximately an hour. The performance gives the opportunity for those with shakers to join her for a song.

Steampunk Harry Potter is open to those aged 10 to 18 years. Those who are participating are encouraged to dress in steampunk-inspired Harry Potter costumes on Thursday, March 21. Activities will include “STEAM” projects, such as slime potions, charms, and secret coding. There will also be Quidditch ping pong, as well as a photo booth.

For those 13-18 years of age, by attending any teen program, they are eligible to enter a draw to win a pair of tickets to Northern FanCon in May. The tickets were provided by the Friends of the Prince George Public Library. Draws will take place each week.
