Premier David Eby gave some attention to Prince George during the Union of B.C. Municipalities (UBCM) Conference.

Councillor Ron Polillo is feeling excitement after attending a session at the Union of BC Municipalities convention on hosting FIFA World Cup watch parties.At City Council's meeting on September 17th, City Council discussed a notice of motion put forward by Polillo, directing staff to plan and execute the watch parties to be held at Canada Games Plaza. 

After Bryan Adams serenaded a nearly sold out CN Centre last night (Tuesday), the arena's anniversary party will continue throughout this week and into the weekend.Sunday, September 28th will mark 30 years to the day the arena opened in Prince George, then known as the Prince George Multiplex.

Local politicians are in Victoria this week to discuss with the provincial government the various issues being faced at a municipal level.

According to its 2024 Annual Culture report, there was an overall 6.5% drop in visitors to the cultural sites when compared to 2023, but attendance was stronger than in 2022.

Prince George City Council has decided to wait for more information before making a decision on hosting watch parties for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.At Wednesday's meeting, City Council discussed a notice of motion put forward by Councillors Ron Polillo and Cori Ramsay, directing staff to work with a few local organizations to plan and execute outdoor watch parties to be held at Canada Games Plaza. 

The topic of a new shelter for the Little Prince came back to the Prince George City Council table at last night's (Wednesday) meeting. According to a staff report, Council approved a capital project to replace the Little Prince Train Shelter in January 2020, but was deferred due to impacts of the pandemic. 

The City of Prince George will participate in a provincial project studying e-kick scooters. The opportunity to join pilot project was presented to City Council at last night's (Wednesday) meeting.
