If you haven’t made it to a Sip Wine Festival Event yet, there’s still time.
Theatre Northwest’s International Wine event takes place on Saturday and it’s a great event if you like to indulge for a good cause.
“This is our major fundraiser of the year,” says Marnie Hamagami, general manager for Theatre Northwest. “We really depend on this to bring the sort of high quality events that we put on in the community. It’s a core part of our fundraising efforts for the year.”
But Hamagami says the event is about more than just raising money.
“It builds community in Prince George. I think Prince George often suffers from people thinking that we don’t have as much going on in terms of arts and culture in the community as you might in the lower mainland and this is the kind of event that highlights that we do have a lot going on in Prince George.”
Not a wine fan? That’s not all the event will be serving up.
“In addition to win, we will have a scotch tasting room and we’ll be pouring 8 single malt scotches. We also have two brand ambassadors coming in to speak about the scotches. If you’re not a wine person but you love scotch, this event is for you too and it’s the same price as our scotch and social.”
There will also be appetizers from local restaurants.
There are two events – one at 1pm and another at 7pm on Saturday. You can still get tickets at Books and Company or online at Theatre Northwest.
