A 52-year-old woman from Edmonton and her dog died after a single vehicle crash on the Alaska Highway south of Klua Lakes, roughly 102 kilometres south of Fort Nelson.

At the time of his disappearance, Ravinder Singh was wearing a black bomber-style jacket with a pink shirt, blue jeans and a black baseball cap.

Police say the Northern Rockies RCMP received an automated crash detection notification on the Alaska Highway near the 605 kilometre mark in the area of summit lake at around 5:45 am MST yesterday (Tuesday).

An injured horseback rider was rescued in a remote area of Northeastern BC by search and rescue aircraft from Comox on Vancouver Island. The incident took place late Tuesday evening in the wilderness 185 km east of Fort Nelson.

The BC Conservation Officer Service says a grizzly bear attack near Fort Nelson left one man with non-life-threatening injuries.  According to a Facebook post from the Conservation Officer Service, the attack took place at 11:00 this morning near a remote, fly-in location approximately 110 kilometres west of Fort Nelson, where a group was working in the area. 

The BC Wildfire Service is rescinding the area restriction order surrounding the Pocket Knife Creek Wildfire. This will take effect tomorrow (Saturday) at noon. The area restriction was originally put in place on May 31st.
