The Prince George RCMP is asking for the public's help in locating 28-year-old Lane Irvine Jack Elkins.

Mounties will be using a variety of methods in the upcoming weeks, including the use of our RCMP UTV, police helicopter, traditional vehicle patrols and foot patrols with Bylaw Services Officers.

The event led to UHNBC's emergency department being placed under restricted access for a 25-minute period.

The health authority made the decision in consultation with the Prince George RCMP to allow the treatment of a gunshot wound. It has been confirmed to MyPGNow.com the victim was a man in his 20’s.

The Prince George RCMP are asking for the public's help in locating 36-year-old Matthew Douglas Sweder.

According to the BC Prosecution Service, Garnet Alexander Izony was sentenced on July 23rd for possession of a prohibited and restricted firearm as well as possession of a firearm while prohibited.

The incident in question occurred at about 7:00 a.m. on May 31, 2021, when local police approached a man near the North Star Inn near Victoria Street and 15th Avenue. The Independent Investigations Office said during the interaction, shots were fired by police, with the man sustaining a serious gunshot injury.

The Independent Investigations Office (IIO) referred a matter involving Prince George RCMP to the BC Prosecution Service for consideration of charges.
