A new logo for the Prince George Cougars is on the way.
The team filed a trademark application with the Canadian Intellectual Property branch in April.
“With the new ice age, we want to have a different image and something that more reflects the direction and spirit of the team and the spirit of the players.” Owner Greg Pocock said “We think we’ve come up with something that fans will really like and identify with and we are very excited about it.”
He says the logo will be unveiled within the next 30 days.
This will be the fourth logo in team history; the current version of the cat has been around since 2009.
A crude idea of the logo is available on the Intellectual Property branch website, but Pocock says it is very far from the finished product.
