New App to help Update City Parks

You can now share your two cents on the city’s park strategy without even leaving the couch.

City Staff has created an app for so you can easily check out the park updates and give feedback.

Strategic Parks Planner Laurie-Ann Kosec says your ideas will with investment decisions.

“We really need to hear from people. We are making some decisions about making priorities of where we invest monies in parks so it’s really important that the community comes out and have their say,” she says.

This is a part of the District Consultation process. Staff will use this information to make a draft strategy before fall.

Feedback forms are already online. There will also be 5 public meeting in the next two weeks:

  • College Heights Secondary School Tennis Courts – Wednesday, April 27th, 6PM – 8 PM
  • Duchess Park Playground – Saturday, April 30th, 12 PM – 2 PM
  • Canada Games Plaza (YMCA Heathy Kids Day) – Sunday, May 1st, 10 AM – 4 PM
  • Blackburn Community Hall –Wednesday, May 4th, 6 PM – 8 PM
  • Cpl. Darren Fitzpatrick Bravery Park– Thursday, May 5th, 6 PM – 8 PM

You can access the app here.

If you’re not tech-savvy and can’t get the a meeting, hard copies of the information can be found at all civic facilities like the library, pool, and City Hall.
