If you’ve been missing the sounds of revving, roaring engines, tonight’s your night as the Prince George Auto Racing Association kicks off its season.
Time trials start at 6pm with races beginning at 7. The Street Stocks, Minis and Hornets will all be on the track and President Chris Arronge says they’re starting the season with a special event.
“We’re also having a memorial smoke show competition in memory of Devin Barks out there. So anyone can bring out their car or truck and do a big burnout and the winner gets all the entrance fee money. It’s a great way to go and show off your hot rod.”
Arronge says the season start was slightly delayed this year.
“This year we started a week later than we normally do just for the fact that we didn’t want to open up on May long weekend. Usually everybody’s out of town camping for that so we decided to move it back.”
He says it’s a great, affordable evening of entertainment.
“It’s good cheap entertainment. Adults are $10, kids 6 to 18 are $6 and kids under 5 are free. It’s cheap family entertainment, live action and it should be a great time.”
Those with little ones to tuck into bed will be glad to know the action should wrap up around 9:30 pm.
