Omineca Region gets additional Conservation Officer

The Conservation Officer Service now has eight more workers to keep off-roaders safe, including one here in the Omineca Region.

Deputy Chief Chris Doyle says these auxiliary workers will play a big role in ORV (off road vehicle) law enforcement.

“The duties of the auxiliary COs (Conservation Officers) will not be solely related to ORV regulations, including licensing and safety violations. They will also complement and support full-time COs with enforcement and other duties, including responding to human-wildlife conflict,” he says.

These new workers will help until January and then start back up in Spring.
