A 10 cent gas price increase awaits Prince George drivers.
The spike will bring prices to the $1.10 or $1.11 range and Dan McTeague with Gasbuddy.com says it’s not expected to last.
“The price will likely go up either today (Tue) or tomorrow (Wed) but by the weekend look for those prices to drop between 1.03 or 1.04 range and that’s likely where one would consider ultra-competition with retailer only having 4 or 5 cents a litre to surprise.”
A refinery in the midwestern United States is experiencing some water treatment problems which has halted production and is one of the reasons for the higher jump.
The city will temporarily lose it’s crown as the cheapest place to buy gas in BC to Kamloops until prices their go up as well.
