Son of dead Renegade boss faces new charges

Two people are facing charges after a traffic stop on Saturday netted 14 grams of crack cocaine and $6,000.

23 year old Ryan Moore and a 33 year old female passenger will face trafficking charges after the arrest on Westwood Drive.

Ryan Moore is the son of Billy Moore; the president of the Prince George Renegades Motorcycle Club, who was shot to death in an unsolved gangland execution in 2005. Ryan was already facing a long list of charges stemming from the seizure of a cache of guns in May.

The RCMP says that the cycle of crime often spans generations,

“We certainly have families where we deal with the parents significantly and then as their kids get older we deal with them in a criminal nature as well.” Says Corporal Craig Douglas, “They are in that same cycle that their parents are in.”

He added that it is something they deal with in Prince George quite a bit.

“We’ve got a number of father-son, father-daughter and mother-daughter scenarios in the community that we deal with fairly often.”

But Douglas was clear note that people have broken the cycle of crime plenty of times in the past, “There are certainly success stories where people have been able to break away from the criminal activity that their parents are involved in and gone on to do wonderful successful things.”

Ryan Moore also has previous drug convictions. He was found guilty of trafficking cocaine and heroin to support his own heroin addiction and has already spent almost two years in prison. He will be facing additional charges for violating parole conditions after this recent arrest.
