Prince George photographers help beautify the City

Local photographers have lent their talents to the City latest street light banners.

Four local photographers from the Prince George Photographic Society have been selected to have their photos displayed throughout the City.

“Late last year we talked to the Prince George Photography Club, and we decided we wanted to have photos of Prince George that are unique to Prince George and spoke to what PG represents,” said Doug Hofstede, Community Coordinator with the City.

The banners are being installed this week along Highway 97, the Aquatic Centre, and Exhibition Park.

Hofstede said the hope is that the new banners will last for the next two and a half to three years.

He said it’s not the first time the City has featured local artists.

“We have used a lot of different artists over the years. Some have created images others have painted banners. One year we had a group of Kelly Road High School kids develop some banners.”
