Lowe’s to close Feb. 19th in Prince George

It is another sign of the tough economic conditions.

American home improvement giant, Lowe’s announced today (Wednesday) that is closing 34 underperforming stores across Canada, including the one at the Pine Centre Mall.

Lowe’s did not say in a media release how many staff would be affected by the closures.

The closing date for Prince George Lowe’s store is February 19th, 2020.

According to the Prince George Chamber of Commerce, 109 employees will be impacted by the closure.

Lowe’s has only been at the Pine Centre Mall location since the summer of 2016.

It took over the space that was previously occupied by Target from the years 2011-2015.

MyPGNow reached out to Lowe’s for a possible interview but declined comment.
