Cougars solidify centre depth with acquisition of Moose Jaw Warriors’ Face-Off leader

Mark Lamb loves looking east for talent and that trend continued today (Thursday).

The Prince George Cougars General Manager and Head Coach acquired 19-year-old forward Kash Andresen from the Moose Jaw Warriors in exchange for a third-round selection in the 2027 WHL Prospects Draft and a conditional fifth-round selection in 2030.

“Kash is an experienced centre who will fit in well with our group,” said Lamb. “He is a strong 200-foot player who brings valuable experience and is reliable in the face-off circle.”

Andresen is off to a strong start to the 2026-27 campaign, recording four points (1G-3A) in six games.

Last season, he registered 32 points (14G-18A) in 66 games, while adding 52 penalty minutes, 87 shots on goal, and nearly 500 face-off wins.

The 6-foot-2, 191-pound forward joins the Cougars with 188 games of WHL regular-season experience.

Andresen also brings valuable post-season experience, having helped the Lethbridge Hurricanes reach the Eastern Conference Championship Series in the 2025 WHL Playoffs.

During that run, Andresen recorded six points in 14 playoff contests.

In other news, ex-Cougars goalie Alex Levshyn signed with the BCHL’s Spruce Grove Saints on Wednesday.

PG returns to action on Saturday as they travel to Kelowna to battle the Rockets.
