Attempted murder investigation launched by local police

The Prince George RCMP are looking into an attempted murder following shots fired on Wiggins Place, near Moss Avenue after a 9-1-1 call was made.

According to the police, the incident occurred just after 8:00 PM on Tuesday.

Officers found bullet casings but no victims, however, several witnesses reported seeing gunshots and two dark vehicles fled the area.

Cpl. Craig Douglass told MyPGNow.com a 28-year-old local man went to University Hospital where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries after a single gunshot wound.

Police then received another development after this.

“At the same time, police received a report of a vehicle on fire located on Moyie Street just a few blocks away from the shooting scene and investigators believe the vehicle was deliberately set on fire and is associated with this shooting.”

Investigators believe this was a targeted incident with ties to the drug trade, the general public is not believed to be at risk.
