Maria Mongomo had an unforgettable weekend.
Not only did the fifth-year guard play a major role in the UNBC Timberwolves women’s basketball sweep over the Brandon Bobcats, but she also ended up in the record books as well.
The solid weekend allowed her to be named the women’s Canada West second star of the week.

Mongomo became the first player in eight seasons to record back-to-back 30 point games and stretched that streak to three during a 78-67 win on Friday.
On Saturday, she put up 17 points, nine rebounds and a pair of steals.
She sits top five in points, rebounds, and steals per game this season.
This is the second straight week and third time this season that Mongomo has been named a Canada West Star of the Week.
The Timberwolves are 7-9 on the season, riding a four-game winning streak as they get set for a pair of road games in Regina this weekend against the Cougars.
For the third time this year, @UNBCWomensBball‘s Maria Mongomo has been honoured by @CanadaWest! @UNBC‘s Balla from Las Palmas had another historic weekend, and best of all, the Timberwolves earned two more wins!
