PG Rotary Club’s “Adventures in Healthcare” program expands to Peace River

The Rotary Club of Prince George Yellowhead is opening a second Adventures in Healthcare program in the Peace River from April 29-30.

At least 20 spots will be available for high school students, with a total number of 70 spots between the two programs this year.

“They train in the north, they stay in the north is the basic principle behind the program. The only problem we have had , is we have had too many people wanting to come!” said Rotarian Ron Davis.

” [The new expansion] alleviates pressure for students to come to Prince George.”

The expansion will be spearheaded by SD #60, in partnership with Northern Health, Northern Lights College, the Sunrise Rotary Club of Dawson Creek.

The Prince George chapter is an annual event that enables young northern British Columbians to receive hands-on medical training from partnerships with places like Northern Health, UNBC and CNC.

The Rotary Club of Prince George Yellowhead has been serving Prince George, BC, since its charter in 1977.
