Kelly Road School summary report scheduled for next week

School District 57 trustees will be gathering on Wednesday, April 22nd at 6 P.M. to receive a summary report of public feedback offered on the potential renaming of  Kelly Road Secondary School (KRSS).

The original motion to potentially rename the facility was initially met by controversy, including a roadside rally.

Engagement data collected online will be discussed and streamed on SD7’s website to maintain physical distancing requirements.

The new building is scheduled to open in September.

In an official release, SD57 explained their desire to reconcile past and present values through the two names: Shas Ti Secondary School and KRSS.

To date, over 2,200 responses have been collected from the questionnaire.

A name for the new facility will be decided on April 28th.
