A local musician is taking to the virtual stage tomorrow evening as one of four performers in a province-wide live-streamed concert.
Several artists will be performing from their respective cities including Vancouver’s Dan Mangan, Alex Cuba of Smithers and Desiree Dawson of White Rock and Prince George local Kym Gouchie.
“I’m completely blown away to be honest,” exclaimed the singer-songwriter.
“I didn’t really understand fully what I was agreeing to at first, I realized later that I was one of four artists selected in the province and it just blew my mind!”
Gouchie says it’s an honor to represent the northern part of the province alongside Alex Cuba.
“I felt a real surge in representation in the north in the last few years, there are so many incredible artists starting to really emerge especially on social media.”
The thought of singing on a live stream as opposed to a concert took some getting used to, she added.
Gouchie will be performing from Summerland, BC, where she is currently staying due to travel restrictions.
The event kicks off at 4 pm.
