Crowds lineup for Winners HomeSense opening at Pine Centre Mall

It’s one part new location, one part grand opening for Winners HomeSense in Pine Centre Mall.

Some Prince George residents are excited for the store, with a line wrapping around the side of the building.

Those who have been waiting longest reported standing in line for around two hours today (Tuesday).

Winners, formerly located in Brookwood Plaza is reopening as a hybrid store with HomeSense at its new home along Massey Drive.

The mall has been reopening in pieces as individual retailers have decided to get back in business.

“As of right now we’re sitting about 95% open… the staggering of tenants reopening has actually been beneficial to us because if everyone opened up at once there would be bottlenecking in some areas,” said Rachel Olson, General Manager of Pine Centre Mall.

The 42,000 square foot retail space was formerly occupied by the now-defunct Sears.
