With a new season approaching, it’s time to move away from snow sports and start thinking about spring time activities. To help you out, the City of Prince George has released its spring/summer edition of the Active Living Guide.
Community coordinator Marta Gregor says the guide is an easy way to find local activities and organizations.
“It’s a great resources for all sorts of things. We have a great section about our community organizations in there and the programs that they’re offering. And then there’s a whole bunch of information about city parks and trails in there.”
New to the guide’s featured trails is Centennial Connector trail loop, part of the city’s Centennial Trails project.
Gregor says the guide has something for everyone.
“So whether you’re looking for something related to music or something related to outdoor activities, it’s all in there. We list a number of recreational organizations in there as well, from track and field to the French Canadian club. So there’s quite a bit in there – it’s a great resource for our community.”
If you haven’t received your copy of the guide yet, you can head on over to Pine Centre Mall this weekend. In tandem with the release of the Active Living Guide, the City is hosting it’s bi-annual Active Living Market. Gregor says the market features a variety of new activities for the new season.
“The one coming up this weekend is for our spring summer. It’s a great place to pick up your guide if you haven’t received one in the mail. We’re going to have about 28 booths represented – everything from music, the art gallery, the YMCA, a number of sporting organizations.”
The Active Living Market begins at 9:30 and runs until 6pm March 5. It’s open 11am until 5pm on Sunday.
If you can’t make it to the market but would like to get your hands on the guide, it is available at City Hall, the Prince George Aquatic centre and the Four Seasons Leisure Pool. More information on the guide can be found on the City’s website.
