UNBC’s summer camps switching to online format

It isn’t just UNBC’s post-secondary courses changing to an online format – this year’s summer camp programs will also be taking place virtually.

The University’s Active Minds team worked on three unique activity streams for children:

  • Activity Clubs, with themed online classes ranging from a half-hour to an hour a day, led by UNBC students. Campers can engage with each other and their leaders online.
  • Ask a Prof Fridays, where UNBC faculty members will lead a hands-on activity and answer questions about their area of expertise on Facebook Live every Friday.
  • Activity Boxes, which have five themed boxes, each containing three experiments for children to complete at their own pace. Each box will contain detailed instructions and a science lesson.

Through these alternative camp offerings, UNBC is able to maintain summer employment for eight students.

UNBC’s Active Minds programs are open for children ages 6 to 12.

More information about UNBC’s summer offerings for kids can be found on their website.
