Prince George Peacemakers show appreciation for RCMP

The Prince George Peacemakers presented the local RCMP detachment with a token of gratitude today (Thursday).

President of the Peacemakers Chris Wiebe and members Stephanie Baerg and Gary Clarke bestowed a collection of handmade cards to say ‘thank you’ to police forces in the area.

The organization began collecting the letters last month from Christian schools in the city.

Commander of the North District RCMP, C/Superintendant Warren Brown, Prince George Commander Superintendant Shaun Wright, and Superintendant James McLaren with North District Operations accepted the gesture on behalf of each police force.

“It seemed like a timely initiative, just to show how thankful we are that we have people to protect us,” said PG Peacemakers president Chris Wiebe.

“It is the little things like this that really remind us all why we are out there doing what we do,” said Supt. Wright.

In addition to the letters, a thank you board was also presented to the trio of Mounties, decorated with photos and words from community members.
