Another Prince George School added to Potential Exposure List

Ron Brent Elementary School has been added to the BC Centre for Disease Control’s (BCCDC) list of possible COVID-19 Exposures.

The potential exposure event has been listed as Friday, October 30th after a member of the school community tested positive for the virus.

This is the second SD57 school to be listed on the site, and the third from Prince George.

According to the BCCDC website, “A notification does not mean your child has been exposed to COVID-19. If you do not receive a phone call or letter from Public Health, your child should continue to attend school. You can monitor your child for COVID-19 symptoms daily using the BC COVID-19 Health Assessment Tool.”

The district is working with Northern Health and the Medical Health Officer and are following their guidance.

Any individual deemed to be at risk of exposure will be contacted directly by Northern Health.

Please be reassured that our schools will continue to implement the strict protocols and procedures we have in place so that children can continue to attend school as safely as possible.

The safety and well-being of our students, families, and staff remains our highest priority.
