Help Wanted! City of PG searching for new budget conscious City Manager

The City of Prince George has initiated a job search for a City Manager to implement a vision for the community and the City’s strategic priorities.

In PG, the City Manager is the Chief Administrative Officer that is responsible for the operation of all municipal services.

Additionally, they oversee 750 staff members, exempt and unionized employees with a total budget of $250 million.

Council is working with a search firm to identify suitable candidates, applicants must apply by February 26th.

The position was previously held by Kathleen Soltis for 5 years (with the City for 34 years), however, she reached a mutual agreement to end her employment contract on September 25th, 2020.

Cause of Nechako Bottle Depot fire remains unknown, investigation to commence this week

Prince George Fire Rescue Chief Fire Bryan Burleigh says an insurance adjuster has been assigned in the fire that destroyed the Nechako Bottle Depot Sunday, and an investigation will commence this week. Fire crews were called to the depot just before 5:00 Sunday morning, and spent much of the day battling the blaze before calling it extinguished in the evening.
