Downtown Winterfest modifying celebrations due to pandemic

Downtown Winterfest has been put on ice this year due to the pandemic, but local organizers say there is still a way for the public to show support for the area.

There are seven ways residents can enjoy downtown this winter including a trip to the PG Farmers Market, or Two Rivers Art Gallery.

Downtown PG Executive Director, Colleen Van Mook spoke to MyPGNow.com.

“We really can’t host an event and that’s got us really sad because Downtown Prince George looks forward to the opportunity to invite people to come downtown to celebrate at any time and this was our great celebration of winter and we love seeing the families.”

Van Mook hopes to bring the festive atmosphere back to the downtown core in 2022.

“We just want to make sure that people know that we are committed to bringing Downtown Winterfest back when we are able to celebrate the way we used to with our winter market and our s’more contest and the playground.”

“It was so much fun.”
