It’s tee time, Prince George! Local golf courses open up

Spring is in the air in Prince George, and local golf courses are gearing up for the 2021 season.

The Prince George Golf and Curling Club is opening up on Saturday (April 10th) and is already booked up into early next week.

That’s according to Don McDermid, General Manager of the Prince George Golf and Curling Club, who notes the Pro Shop and Driving Range are already open.

“First thing in the spring everyone is eager to play and we’re opening all 18 greens which is two weeks earlier than last year,” explained McDermid.

He says the club is expecting a busy season this year and will have provincial health protocols in place to enforce social distancing measures.

“It (popularity) varies every year and of course Mother Nature dictates a lot but the course wintered very well and the greens are actually better than last year,” he noted.

Meanwhile, Pine Valley Golf Course opened last Friday for the season with the first Men’s day on April 6th and the first Ladies day this week.

Aberdeen Glen Golf Course will open its driving range on Saturday and they are hoping to open for the season on the April 17th weekend, but that is weather dependent.
