Christian Buono and Aaron Trotter of the Prince George Spruce Kings have been recognized for their stellar play during the 20-game BCHL season.
The league handed out its Chilliwack Pod awards today (Tuesday).
Buono was named Most Valuable Player and Leading Scorer. The 20-year-old lit the lamp 14 times inside the Chilliwack Coliseum while also leading the Spruce Kings in points with 27.
He wraps up his Junior A sting with 102 points in 168 regular-season games.

Trotter, on the other hand, was selected as the Top Goaltender.
The Victoria product won seven of his 11 starts finished second in the league in both save percentage (.934) and goals-against average (1.63), backstopping the Spruce Kings (14-5-0-1) to a first-place ahead of the host Chiefs and Merritt Centennials.
In addition, Trotter’s two shutouts put him in a tie for third-most in the BCHL. He, along with Jordan Fairlie and Kobe Grant, combined to allow the second-fewest goals in the league with 37, an average of 1.85 per game.

Trotter finished second in the league in both SV% (.934) and GAA (1.63) with a record of 7-3-1 and two shutouts.
