First Nations Health Authority teams up with local company to deliver vaccines

The First Nations Health Authority is teaming up with Yellowhead Helicopters to send COVID-19 vaccines to remote communities under difficult conditions.

So far, Yellowhead pilots have delivered vaccine shipments to a multitude of northern communities including Fort Nelson, Takla, and Gitanmaax during the first dose clinics.

Pilots are standing by once again to bring vaccines to Northern communities during the second dose program.

“Yellowhead Helicopters has been a strong and reliable partner in the safe and timely delivery of vaccines to our communities. They show with their actions that they care,” said Julie Morrison, Acting Executive Director of the FNHA Northern Region.

The company operates out of Prince George and other communities in BC and Alberta and will be working with the FNHA at a reduced tariff rate.

“We think the health and wellbeing of the communities we serve are paramount,” said Jacob Forman, CEO. “And the quicker we can get the vaccines out, the quicker we can return to normal, whatever that looks like.”
