The Kodiaks football club plans to develop a full-sized CFL field along with two smaller green spaces on Heather Road adjacent to the Hart Community Centre.

President, Craig Briere stated this will provide them additional options given the high demand for usage of other facilities like Masich Place Stadium.

“All of this stuff is leading to an end goal, which is to be able to provide the highest caliber of opportunities for our kids. Reall, this will allow us to have our own dedicated space and facility that we can use for the purposes of developing the game.”

The Kodiaks also entered a partnership with the Community Centre to help utilize the space for offices and training programs as well as continue to host events like weddings, grad parties and craft fairs.

In addition, the Centre will also be made available to other user groups that will be offering community-based services such as Yoga, Zumba, Fitness Classes, Dance Classes and
more.

Earlier this month, the Kodiaks hired former CFL player Keon Raymond as its Director of Football Operations.

The football club is expected to make another major announcement next month.
