Mounties in Prince George got their man.
Just before 11:00 am on Saturday (July 10th), an on-patrol officer near 17th Avenue and Victoria Street noticed a vehicle with no insurance, which led to a traffic stop.
From there, the investigation led police to arrest a 42-year-old Chilliwack man for Possession of a Controlled Substance.
In addition, a replica handgun behind the driver’s seat and ammunition was also found.
“Leo Joseph George, was in breach of his court-ordered conditions not to be driving a vehicle and not to possess any firearms or ammunition, states Cst. Jennifer Cooper of the Prince George RCMP.
Investigators transported him to the detachment to attend a bail hearing.
The BC Prosecution Service approved the following charges:
- Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Order
- Fail to Comply with Probation
George is back in the community on a Release Order until his next court appearance.
