BC cracks 1000 active COVID-19 cases

BC Health officials report that there are 1055 active COVID-19 cases across BC.

600 of those are in Interior Health, while 19 are in the north.

There were 204 new cases, two were in Northern Health.

That being said, 66.8% of BC adults and 64.1% of those 12 and older are fully vaccinated.

81% of those 12 and up, and 81.9% of adults in the province received their first jab.

Of the active cases in BC, 51 individuals are in hospital and 20 are in intensive care.

The new/active cases include:

  • 58 new cases in Fraser Health
    • Total active cases: 241
  • 23 new cases in Vancouver Coastal Health
    • Total active cases: 139
  • 107 new cases in Interior Health
    • Total active cases: 600
  • two new cases in Northern Health
    • Total active cases: 19
  • 14 new cases in Island Health
    • Total active cases: 51
  • no new cases of people who reside outside of Canada
    • Total active cases: five
