St.Michaels Church is looking to partner with the City on renovations

$1,100,000 is being poured into external and internal renovations at St.Michaels Church in Prince George, and they’re looking for an endorsement from the City.

The church is being transformed into a recital hall for the performing arts, and the current work is slated to finish by December of this year.

Marie Hay and Chris Peter with the church will be asking City Council tomorrow (Monday) to partner with the organization and potentially supply $50,000 to install 300 seats.

St.Michaels Church isn’t the only church in town undergoing renovations, as the Community Arts Council (CAC) and Trinity United Church have been looking to redevelop Trinity Downtown into a new live music and events venue.

The City of Prince George will also look to enter an operating agreement with FortisBC during the council meeting, potentially open up the CN Centre in mid-October for indoor walking, and could enter a partnership with the Jumpstart Charity to build a multisport court near the Fire Hall on Massey Drive.
