The Chicago Blackhawks have sent Brett Connolly to their AHL farm team after he cleared waivers.

Original story:

Former Prince George Cougars star Brett Connolly has hit another bump in the road.

The 29-year-old has been placed on waivers by the Chicago Blackhawks and will likely head to the AHL’s Rockford Ice Hogs if unclaimed.

In April, he was dealt to the Windy City by the Florida Panthers in a five-player deal.

Two years ago, he signed a four-year, $14-million contract with the Panthers.

Connolly captured the Stanley Cup with the Washington Capitals in 2018.
