The Canucks ended a 4-game losing skid and won for just the second time in their last 11 games. The (7-14-2) Canucks are 1-3 on a 5-game road trip that concludes Wednesday night in Ottawa (4:30 p.m. start PT).

WHL:

The Prince George Cougars play four games in five nights, all in the U.S.

The (7-11) Cougars visit the (12-6-1) Seattle Thunderbirds tonight, (7-10-2-1) Portland Winterhawks Wednesday, (4-10-2-1) Spokane Chiefs Friday, and (4-11-2) Tri-City Americans Saturday.

P.G. started a string of six straight on the road with a 4-1 loss Saturday in Kelowna.

Prince George is 4th in the B.C. Division, seven points behind Vancouver and eight back of second-place Kelowna.

BCHL:

The (10-6) Prince George Spruce Kings host the (14-2) Penticton Vees.

One of the two Penticton losses this season came in P.G. on October 27th by a 7-1 score.

BC Elite Hockey League: (Cariboo Cougars U18 AAA)

The U-18 Cariboo Cougars are scheduled to have home games Saturday night at 4:30 and Sunday morning at 9:00 at Kin 1.

The (7-7-1-1) Cougars are in 5th place in the 10-team league.

Cariboo is coming off a pair of wins over the Thompson Blazers in Kamloops, 3-1 Saturday and 2-1 Sunday.

The Northern Capitals skated to a pair of wins and an overtime loss against the Thompson-Okanagan Lakers in the U18 female division.

The Caps earned 4-1 and 6-1 victories on Friday and Sunday and fell 4-3 in extra time on Saturday in games that were played in Prince George.

The Capitals now have a 14-5-0-3 record and are currently in first place in the five-team division. They’re one point up on the second-place Fraser Valley Rush, but the Rush (15-1-0-0) have six games in hand.

The Prince George-based Caps are now off until Jan. 15th.

The U17 Cariboo Cougars won a pair of tight games against the visiting Thompson Blazers, 2-1 on Saturday and 4-3 on Sunday.

With the wins, the Cats elevated their record to 6-7-0-1, a mark that has them in seventh place in the 10-team division.

NFL: (Final game in Week 12)

Washington is 5-6 while Seattle drops to 3-8.

After 12 weeks, Arizona has the best record in the NFL at 9-2 followed by Green Bay at 9-3.

In the AFC, Baltimore leads at 8-3 followed by New England at 8-4.

The Patriots have won six straight.

Week 13 starts Thursday night with (7-4) Dallas at (5-6) New Orleans.

The CFL division finals will be played on Sunday.

In the East, Hamilton plays at Toronto (9:30 a.m. PT) and in the West, Saskatchewan visits Winnipeg (1:00 p.m.).

Canada West basketball:

The UNBC Timberwolves visit the Victoria Vikes Friday and Saturday nights in their final Canada West basketball games in 2021.

The UNBC women are 4-2 on the season while the men are 2-4.

Victoria is 2-4 in the women’s division and 5-1 in the men’s standings.
