Prince George RCMP responded to a call for a robbery on Saturday (Jan. 22nd) shortly after 10 am on the 400 block of Victoria Street.
Someone had $40 stolen from them at an ATM, but less than two hours after the crime, 36 year old Michael Aslin, a Fort St. James resident who’s known to police was arrested.
RCMP said they checked the video footage and identified Aslin as the suspect.
“Quick and detailed police work, including the use of a Police Service Dog and viewing video surveillance, led to the suspect’s arrest. This is an example of the dedication police have to maintaining the safety of Prince George residents,” said Cpl Jennifer Cooper.
